Forklift driver to nail technician
Before working with celebs, Leighton was a forklift driver, but he discovered the world of nail care on a trip to the USA. On returning to Bradford he gave up the forklift and trained as a nail technician.
Leighton spotted a niche he was keen to fill: 'I saw the likes of Nicky Clarke, a household name for hairdressing and shampoos, and realised there was no leader in the nail industry. So I put some clothes in a backpack and decided to go to London and see what happened'.
Top of his game
These days Leighton has his own salon in Harrods and has won the prestigious Nail Technician of the Year award so many times they've banned him from entering and made him a judge instead.
